I've been thinking more and more about New Year's. We mostly did nothing special growing up.
But, since being married, I went into special meal mode. It wasn't until the past 20-some odd years that I started making New Year's Eve food.
As I mentioned on Tea Time, I have done small foods - kind of snacky eating, spaghetti, etc. This year, I want to make the easy pizza that I missed making a couple of months ago.
But, someone was talking about New Year's breakfast, and I was thinking - any excuse to make a real breakfast!
I have been rolling steak and eggs around in my head. If I make a little meat into sausage for the pizza, why not make thin breakfast steaks out of the rest. My meat is back to nearly critical, but I may be about to swing it. Hopefully. It won't take much for either. There are sides I can think of to go with it.
Anyway, it's a thought.
What would you do for a special weekend breakfast next Saturday?
Any food traditions for you/your family for New Year's/Eve, even in years gone by?
