Second, that's a great idea with the rice. Kind of New Orleans-ish!
I am having meat seasoned with sausage seasoning tomorrow night. I am cooking onions in a pan, plus finely cut greens, the sausage meat, and then using salt, pepper, garlic, and...not sure yet.
Once everything is sautéed as I want it, add some 1/3 cooked penne to the pan, letting it finish cooking with the other ingredients/flavors.
I usually add a little broth to the pan to finish, cooking a while longer. As long as the pasta stays al dente.
I feel as though I'm forgetting something. Hopefully, I'll remember when I make it, lol!
