Definitely French's has it's place, my whole grain brown has its, etc.
Actually, I learned about being picky about mustard brands when I was young. I ate deli sandwiches which were fantastic, and we kept 2 others in the 'fridge. My sister didn't like mustard, but I did.
However, while I loved them dearly...adored them really, my maternal grandparents (she was a great cook in all ways.) bought some brands that I'd never heard of for condiments, from hamburger chip pickles, to mustard. I don't know if my uncles, who brought them things sometimes as they basically raised their kids, or if they preferred them, or if it was to save money in the pre-store brand days and I was a food snob :-( but I was soooo surprised as a little child the first time that I had the 'yellow' mustard there. It wasn't good, if I am being 100% honest. Even after this many decades, I feel bad saying it.
I've never had the angus, but am picky about hotdogs, too. I blame my parents for this, lol! They made a great hotdog, and always got good ones. We didn't have them all that much at home, but it's what I ate...broiled, and with sauerkraut.
So, once again, I was surprised to see a boiled hotdog. My cousins ate them with mayo. You can imagine how I felt about that. :-( I had, though, eaten steamed hotdogs at places like Disneyland, etc. I didn't mind them at all. Strange, isn't it?
McCormick is the best.
Absolutely Heinz. Another surprise to me was eating other catsups. I must have really been sheltered, while at the same time wrapped in a cocoon of tasty foods, lol! Sheesh!
Yes, Campbell's.
My mom bought Knudsen's for cottage cheese, and sour cream, but I didn't eat sour cream then. I did like the clean taste of their cottage cheese. When I started eating sour cream I was quite a bit older, and used Daisy...up until I couldn't get lactose pills a few years ago.
Dh was a Lay's bbq devotee!
Me too on the EVOO.
I just want bags that won't make me sick, will do the job, and bonus points for being environmentally friendly, and on sale!
Interesting thoughts, thank you!
