(This is the weekly post where you share your week of food. Did you have anything that really made your week, such as your favorite soup, a lunch out, or maybe you had something new? Find a new food product? A new appliance? Please do share!)
I had some very bad eating days, and also good ones.
The best was when I made burrito meat, and we had burritos a couple of times...and there's more in the 'fridge. It came out delicious.
I couldn't make Dh's icebox cake, because I'm making it with chocolate cookies, whipped cream, and vanilla pudding. I've made pudding without milk for decades, but this is an instant 'hippie' pudding (All natural, and sugar-free.) that we want to try. Problem is, it really does need milk. I no longer have milk in the house, so will need Ds to get a small amount.
So, this week. Dh is easy about things like this. He did get lots of treats...
Candy from me, and Ds not only bought him a key lime Kit Kat (he likes to try different flavors.), and an ice cream sandwich, but then, he dropped off popcorn.
He's wanted to make his father popcorn since last year...but we were evacuated. One bag is caramel with chocolate drizzle. The other one is cheese popcorn. He had bought some cheddar cheese powder, and butter powder, last year, to make it. It's funny, it's real cheese and butter, maybe even organic, but doesn't make it soggy, just more like something that you'd buy. And, he said that there's enough to last a long time for him to make it for ddil, whenever she wants snacks.
So, he's fine until I get the milk, lol! Maybe we should wait until next weekend! :-)
One day, I make meat strips which were good, and had them and the sauce over rice.
Have you heard that baking soda tenderizes meat? Not too much, I don't think, that would taste bad. Just a little in your meat strip's marinade. I want to try that the next time.
I hope to get some veges on Saturday. We need to call in an order for Dh's bread, as he only has one loaf left. It can be picked up on Saturday's, so I hope to make a plan with Ds to do a mini-shop when he picks it up, for some veges. Not that he's agreed to Sat. yet, mind you, but I'll talk to him when he calls in the morning.
Well, that's about it for my food. How was your food week?
