When Ds was picking up his truck bed in the middle of nowhere, he went through a small town...pop. 95?...and stopped to get a part for the truck at their hardware store.
While there, he found some Pyrex-like glass pans, which turn out to be Anchor Hocking. I've been looking for one the size of my blue 'casserole' dish which fits my countertop oven, and I make everything in from chicken legs to cornbread.
But, that size has been nowhere to be found...not at the hardware store, the market, Amazon, etc. They have had a couple on Ebay, but they want 10x's the pan's price for shipping alone! No thanks. So, even though I'm used to Pyrex, this is very pretty, and has so far worked just as well! :-)
Anyway, because this place in Manchester has almost no people there, no one had bought their stock, and they had a pan the size of my dish, and he also found a glass pie pan. It's got pretty etching all over it, and the color is somewhere between rose and cranberry. Very nice.
How did you make your cod? That sounds good.
I understand, and think that the sandwiches that you'll get from the turkey breast will be wonderful!
Ds and I were talking about cheese fondly the other day, lol! Dh eats enough for the 3 of us, though. It's one of his caloric foods. I don't know what would happen to his weight without it, and 2 or 3 other daily foods. I do like cheese myself. They swear that it's actually addicting, so we shouldn't feel bad about enjoying it so much!
I don't remember Jiffy making a banana cornbread, but it sounds good!
Your selection of breads sound like they will make for some very tasty toast and sandwiches!
Oh, that sounds great, I really love blackberry preserves. I don't get it anymore from my original jam and jelly company, but am hoping to make some of my own in August for the fall/winter/spring. I'm sure that you will enjoy it!
I have come to the same. I think that the best place for the herbs, at least this year, will be in large pots.
That's good news about the umbrella tree, though I'm sorry about the Red Tip.
The pineapple sounds really nice!
I'm sorry about the old lady bruises. It's maddening to feel young, but have things like that. Thin skin, crepe skin, dry skin, etc. etc. Sheesh.
It reminds me of the Twilight Zone, or maybe it was Outer Limits, where the husband and wife were getting old, and they were up for a standard, in the future, new body. There were various models. I would find it weird to look like someone else, but maybe not horrible if one could choose it. However, if the mind was intact with all memories, etc. it would be nice to have a younger, healthier body. I wouldn't mind skipping around again, and having perfect skin and tight everything, lol! ;-)
Lol! I was always able to get excited by Supplies, but I think that after 2020 *everyone* gets excited by a new package of toilet paper, lol!
I understand about the bs. The bars sound good, and effective.
Thank you for the info. They sound like something that I can safely handle for Dh. His bs drops these days, too.
That's a shame about the avocadoes. And, the strawberries.
It's funny that you should say that. I'm not big on lime, either, but am a fiend for lemon. :-) Normally, they do have lemon, which I'll get for Dh in 2 months, for his 'shopping day treat!'
Yes, sometimes the food that works is too efficient. Ds has that trouble with Frankie. Good luck with their weight, it's not easy to cut back for cats, they don't take it well.
I'm glad that Charlie's pills will come in time, as needed.
What worries me about what happened to Kenzi, is that you would never know that it wasn't being effective until your dog came down hw positive. I'm always relieved when the blood tests come back negative.
It's strange about pasta. Maybe it wouldn't bother some people, but pasta is a food that I'm super picky about. I'd rather not eat it, then have yucky pasta. I really do feel that strongly about it.
That's good news about your arm, and your #'s.
You and Dh both. I try to choose higher calorie foods for him, but ones which aren't heavy on sugar. So, ice cream is not a good daily food for weight, for example. I push him using cheese as much as he wants to, not skipping meals, having sandwiches if he feels like eating - the more bread the better, and Sunbutter is also pretty high in calories, like peanut butter. Also, he eats quite a few tortilla chips each day, unless he runs out. It seems carb heavy, but so far they work fine, especially if he takes in vinegar each day. I try to balance it with protein, which he's upped his intake of.
He's not a mayonnaise fiend, but does eat it in his chicken salad for sandwiches. I encourage it because it adds calories to his meal. That's kind of the trick...padding his meals with more caloric foods...mayonnaise, cheese, 2 sandwiches rather than one, bananas, Sunbutter, etc. He does eat some ice cream after shopping days, but then there's a drought.
It takes effort every day. Good luck with it. It's not easy to push food sometimes.
Well, I've got to lie down. Dh can turn off the light, and put the battery on the charger if I do. Besides which, I need the sleep, lol!
Have a great day!
