I remember eating *inside* a McDonald's, back when burgers were 15 cents, I believe, so long ago. But, in later years, we always went to the drive-through.
I've never eaten Chinese buffet, though I've heard of them. We always sat down in regular Chinese restaurants.
But, when we moved here, there was a wonderful Chinese restaurant owned by a husband and wife. We ate there many times, just us, and with my parents sometimes, when they visited.
However, sometimes, when things were going on, we would order their eggrolls to eat in the car, at home, etc. Also 2 of their dishes now and then. Not often, but once in a blue moon. Probably when we had to be back to pick kids up somewhere. Also, maybe 2ce, we got eggrolls and took them back to my mom and dad's hotel, because they, and the kids, were going to have something which I couldn't eat. Mom joined me, and loved them.
So, my whole history with sitting down in Chinese restaurants changed up here sometimes. It was really, really good. These are the people that would bring me a stash of the same green tea that they used in the restaurant, when they went on a buying trip to San Francisco. Best green tea ever, and I have no idea about brand, etc. It was bulk.
I've never eaten at Cane's, of course.
Taco Bell, almost entirely take-out, though I have a vague memory of sitting at a table outside at one once, long ago. I could be mistaken, and it was somewhere else.
Shakey's, we sat inside once, on the way to the mountains, other times someone brought it over. My favorite pizza was Pizza Man, close to our house, and they only delivered. My mouth waters thinking about it, and I just ate; I'm not hungry!
I believe that I've only had Subway's as take-out. I remember something stalling us from leaving once, after we were already in the car, and because mine was a hot sandwich, I ate it in the car.
Yes, KFC as take-out.
Good luck with an Italian deli. I know that you'd love it.
Yes, everything is measured by L.A. standards for me.
Oh, guess what just happened? Ds and ddil took the baby for her 1 yr. exam and for her next vaccines, which meant that he was not at work. So, when they were done, he had part of a day left. He may go and get some parts at Home Depot for the projects that he's required to do at his house for inspection reasons, but before that, he went and picked up some of those bricks for us!
What they are, is a little wall taken down, I think. There's some mortar on them, some are chipped, etc. Buuuut, they are perfect to make a large planting box/area for my bulbs!
So, it will look 'rustic' lol, and not new, which is okay, I'd love to get a load of old bricks. I don't want to try to dig down into my compaction, which is hard as a rock. I want to make a planting box/area that we can fill with dirt, sand, compost, etc.
I'd almost lost hope, thinking that someone else would get the bricks. There are more there that he said that he will get if he can find time. He's going out with the boss 2 days this week, to another job for 2 days, and Saturday is at home meeting with the inspectors, and working on his projects there.
But, I have some now, and will make do, yeah!
Okay, off to the next post. Good thoughts on this subject!
