(This is the weekly post where you share your week of food. Did you have anything that really made your week, such as your favorite soup, a lunch out, or maybe you had something new? Find a new food product? A new appliance? Please do share!)
Thankfully, we had some food pre-made this week. I loved the fried rice, and was able to reheat some for 3 days.
Then, I took a little meat and onions and made a gravy with it, so that we had meat/gravy over rice. It came out well, too, and gave me one extra meal the next day.
That's why I'd love to make and freeze several types of food after ingredients come into the house.
Dh got some bread this week. I can even handle it, lol! It comes frozen from Colorado and is gf. I can't eat it, but can handle it.
It stays in the freezer, and comes in a box of 6. It's going to make a big difference in his eating. I would have liked 12 loaves, as there are a limited amount of slices per loaf, but even in the freezer I wouldn't be able to fit 12 loaves, so 6 it is.
I tried ginger cookies, and they were good, but were lacking something. I could taste the egg. I will have to think about changing something about them.
The same base recipe is used for the chocolate version, which are chewy, and taste brownie-like, and aren't at all 'eggy.'
Next week, I'll probably have tales of KP duty. Hopefully, it works out as well as last month!
How was your food week?
