Buy corn on cob toss un shucked in a storage bag so I take out what I want to use.
This week I bought a bag of 8 pieces of corn on the cob. I buy specific canned corn for my tamale soup. The rest I nuke for a minute shave the corn off and toss what is left of the ear in the pot. Waste not want not.
I also freeze items separately. Each veg is in its on storage bag and I just keep adding so I don't need a new bag all the time.
I also repack meat in meal size portions. Stews and soups and casseroles for example.
Since its just me I bought a lb of bacon. Plastic wrap on counter then laid a strip of bacon, folded over, added another and so on. I have two compact rolls of bacon. I remove as many as I need: 1, 2, etc. Bacon is fresh and no preseratives so has to be kept frozen.
Have fun.
