I get Dh 4 oz. cups. My thought is that, since they are in their natural juice - no sugar added - it's just enough for his bs, but less sugar than most alternatives.
Those all sound good to have on hand for meals/parts of meals.
Because Ds is so rarely home between work, errands, stopping here (Oh! He made my first heater fuel order! More on Saturday, but it will mean that he doesn't have to bring me cans and fill the tank every 2-3 days! Just gas for the gen now!), then cooking dinner when he gets home, baby chores and time, Frankie needs, etc. etc. I have encouraged him to buy frozen French fries when we've shopped.
I know that fresh potatoes are probably a bit cheaper (we did get 5 bags of fries on sale this month, though. Then, some fresh potatoes for mashed.), but he simply skips it because he gets home tired, everyone needs to eat asap, etc. Or, they are with his breakfast, and he is running out the door early, and doesn't want to get up earlier to make potatoes from scratch.
I'm trying to make meals easier for him after getting home at the end of the day. Example - He made mushroom eggs with onions, etc. So, I said, make all of your mushrooms, and cook extra onions. Then, when you make spaghetti in 2 days, your vegetables are already cooked in the 'fridge so that you cut out all of that work. Also, pre-cut the broccoli for your beef and broccoli dish, and you are almost ready to go on that. Because, I know that he has good intentions, and likes to cook, but he barely drags himself home some days. But, I digress...
It's a good thing that you have the type of mind that can keep your long term needs in mind, and make lists each month. At one time, I thought that everyone did that. However, I found that that's not the case.
