One year, she forgot to serve the cranberry sauce, which was in the 'fridge ready to go. I don't remember now if it was forgotten the whole meal, (in which case it was equally our fault for not noticing.) or if we noticed and she got it. It's been a while...!
But, every year after that, we would ask her, in an exaggerated manner, if she remembered the cranberry sauce. It was worth it, because she would act flustered, and shoo us with her apron. She wasn't actually upset, or we wouldn't have done it. Now, when I serve cranberry sauce, I think of her, and what a nice person, and good sport that she was.
I wouldn't be happy about the 2nd issue, either.
