Yes, we had all kinds of bread in the house...real rye, French, etc., but for everyday sandwiches, it was white.

Wait, do you mean the brand Applewood? If so, I love their apple wood smoked chicken cold cuts, once I put them in a pan and cook them. They can be eaten cold and uncooked...because they are already cooked...but it's not the same. There's something about the smell and taste, once they are pan fried, that I became addicted to a few years ago...soooo good! :-)
Grape tomatoes that are ripe, are amazing! No wonder your sandwich was so good with these ingredients!
