Some fixed it by adding a little cocoa and sugar to it.
Well, we know now that you did get pumpkin...if in larger amounts than you were looking for.
I looked it up, and yes, you can freeze any extra from a can.
They said to put it in a Ziploc-type freezer bag, getting out as much air as you can. Freeze flat for quicker thawing.
I would label it thusly: Pumpkin, 10-20, 1 Cup (or however much you freeze.)
If you freeze it in portions, you won't come up short, or have extra.
Maybe freeze the amounts for your favorite recipes, such as how much you use in pumpkin bread, or pies. Thanksgiving and Christmas are coming!
I used to make pumpkin cookies - shaped like pumpkins, and frosted to look like them, or Jack-o-lanterns - starting at Halloween. They taste good, and being filled with pumpkin, they are practically health food!
I'm sorry about the leaves. They are a lot of work to not be able to use them.
Those are cool decorating ideas, though!
