I can't get my bars anymore, but I would literally eat 1 square, and make a bar last nearly a month. You're the only other person that I've known who does that.
I don't care for the gummy items, either, such as the bears or worms. But, I do like the gels. I think that they are gems? They had rectangular ones in the Brach's mixes. My grandmother got the mixed Brach's for her candy dish, which sat on a table in the living room, all my life.
Me, too, re: being a chocoholic. My dad was, also.
Oh, my goodness, I loved peanut butter cups!
Absolutely on See's! I loved visiting the shop and choosing what went into a box. I was an infant when I started going there, and each parent would take me there when buying for the other, or a grandparent. I don't think that we ever bought a pre-packed box. We pointed to what we wanted, said how many, and the woman put them in the box until it was full.
Milk chocolate for my mom w/ colored bon-bon's in the center, more soft fillings. Dark chocolate for my dad, more nuts. Mixed for my grandmother, with truffles. :-) Delicious!
Their first place in the 20's was just down the street from where Dh and I lived when we were first married. :-)
Why can't you eat nuts anymore? :-( I know that I've missed them, too, since I had to stop eating them in the mid/late 90's. Definitely a shame. I really loved them.
Fudge is delicious! Do you mean salt water taffy? I liked that, when my teeth were younger, lol!
I actually learned to like black licorice. I always liked the red, but could take or leave the black as a child.
Then, a neighbor gave us a gift. It was a large spool, and had licorice wrapped on it. Not the hollow type, but like thin shoe strings, and there was a small pair of scissors that came with it. I'm sure that it was real, by the consistency.
Anyway, growing up, we didn't have candy all over the house. So when I wanted something sweet in the middle of the day, there was nothing to have. The cookies etc. were by permission only, until we got older.
So, I'd go and cut off a tiny piece, because it was better than nothing. That spool lasted for months, and months, and months. Eventually, I got a taste for it, lol!
Yes on the rest of your list!
How interesting that you only like certain things in butterscotch. I like it on a banana split.
Okay, off to your other post. I may stop in the middle, and cut up my broccoli, but, if so, I'll be back!
