This month I have a large bag of York Peppermint patties in the freezer.
I have 1 or 2 after dinner or lunch is if it's a big one. Occasionally I have 3 but not often.
I used to buy the large Hershey's Dark Chocolate bar and have 1 square a day. The mint patties are harder to resist. 8-(
I have never liked fruit drops except Gum Drops. Or any of the gummy chewy candies.
Childhood candies I still Love are
Necco Wafers.. those dry dust covered candies they brought back when the company was sold to another company.
I'm a chocoholic - born & bred. LOL But love Peanut butter so Twix, peanut butter M&Ms and Reese's Peanut butter cups. Plus they have Milk Chocolate on them and wafers. Yum
Living in Westchester for most of my life I was within walking distance of a SEE'S Candy store. OMG ---- They gave away samples. Dark Chocolate with a Cherry in the center, or Mint, or buttercream with and without nuts. The list is endless.
I have to admit I still love Candy Canes and peppermint sticks.
I can no longer eat nuts which is a shame.
Growing up on the east coast and going to Atlantic City often - way before the casinos - Taffy and fudge were what my folks took home by the pound. All the rels went to AC and shared their spoils when they got home... we all live with a half hours drive.
Of course black & red Licorice are still loved and eaten. Jelly beans of course but neither in large or even small amounts, more like tiny amts now.
Caramel, white chocolate and white fudge and Milk duds or course.
I'm a big fan or Butterscotch--- but warm pudding usually. But not the candy.
Oh, how I wish I could indulge like I used to.
