My meals have been good lately thanks to "S's" food delivery. When I can I go for Salt... ie, potato chips, tostitos to have with Onion dip or Salsa.
Hard boiled eggs is something I have wanted to do but I keep forgetting to boil some. But Salads are big right now. Along with leftovers such as berry waffles, pancakes, muffins. Luckily I made a number of the first two but am now down to ony Waffles. Finished the Muffins yesterday and the pancakes on the weekend.
Now Ginger snaps is something I go through and they are on my shopping list. I liked some I bought via Amazon's Pantry.
I had a box of Oreos and have a few once in a while.
I have tried to do some creative cooking - stuffed pork chop for one that turned out really well.
I'm putting on some muscle weight, FINALLY!!! This walking has really trimmed me down and not in a good way. My improvement I owe to my decision to buy meat from "S". Stuffed and breaded Chicken breasts are what I am craving. Good burgers and even hotdogs. LOL
I wrote on TT the situation I dealt with re the trip to the store and the veggie stand being closed.
Next week I will start with the Imperfect veggies & fruit. And replace what I have used in the way of canned and boxed food.
Staying away from ice cream including B&J's - except for popsicles - which I break in half most of the time. I try to have on hand only candy that will shoot my BS up. Like dark chocolate mints. In fact at the store yesterday it dropped on me while at the check out. Whew!
Luckily I had bought a bottle of real coke and had some for a quick infusion of sugar. Then I ate lunch - Cheese sandwich on rye, with pickle and chips.
So with my cutting back on sweets... I am eating more bread... all kinds of sandwiches. BLT's with or without tomatoes. lOL But also veggies sandwiches without bacon.
I just realized I have cut back on rice. Hmmmm. Have leftover pasta meals in the freezer.
So really for me it's carbs and not the sweet ones that I need. Which is why I will also try that Sourdough bread baker online.
I've been cooking fruit with my meat more often. Such as Pineapple slices with pork - I froze lots of pineapple.
I stopped buying flour tortillas as they are weird. Need to buy Corn tortillas instead.
I just don't eat sweets like I was. Oh except for the Apple pie which has lasted me over a month. Cheesecake bites are what I will replace the Apple pie with.
I don't eat a lot of dairy usually - especially since no B&J's. So my go to is Sour Cream dips and cream cheese on muffins and foods like Cheesecake with fruit.
This may not have been the exact post you expected. But things are changing so much with the limited access to food now.
If I buy bread and veggies & fruit on line it's possible my cabin fever may get a bit worse.
It's the dairy stuff that I need a source for. The kids maybe - not sure that will work. And I'm not big on yogurt and other organics. LOL though I am eating more tofu. But Amy meals are freezer stuff... and no one will ship those.
OK off to get up it's 6:20 am still dark outside. Slight chance of rain and I need to walk Charlie, get the mail- feed everyone so I can get on the phone and make some calls I was not expecting to make.
Oh well, Life does throw lots of stuff at us sometimes. I am better off then a lot of people. For which I am very grateful.
