On TT, I posted 3 links on freezing potatoes, and gave a recipe.
The difference between having frozen hash browns at the store, and us making them, or any potato product, is that they can flash freeze food, and we can't...unless we get dry ice. I've seen that done with strawberries.
Check the links...hopefully there's an idea for you there. I liked the idea of French fries/wedges, mashed potatoes, and cubed, par-cooked potatoes.
I enjoy vege chips, too. Once I got the air cooker, I never looked back. I am able to make more than I can fit in my counter-top oven, and use less fat to make them. I do toss them in a little olive oil.
Yesterday, there was a show on which was a potluck. But, because of corona, each person was showing their dish, remotely, from their own kitchen at home. They had people that I didn't know, but also Patty LaBelle, George Lopez, one of the Property Brothers, etc.
One of the questions asked of each person was: did you panic buy anything? One said Oreos, another got jugs of iced tea, George Lopez said, "Kids!" after his Dd got him 50 jars of pickled jalapenos! But one, Eva Longoria (?) said that she got 15 avocados, then realized her mistake as she saw that they were going to go bad. I don't know how many family members she's sheltering in with, but she said that she was saying things like: Avocado toast for breakfast? And: Would you like guacamole with that? lol!
Hey, you've got limes...I think that guacamole sounds like a good idea! ;-)
I don't eat apples raw, either. But, do love them cooked over ice cream, in pies, and, of course, as applesauce.
Interesting site, thank you. I am going to show Ds the pizza dough that uses part potatoes. It will help him to stretch the little bit of expensive gf flour that he has.
