I did that because every week the food at the veggie stand is top quality, biggest I ever seen, fresher then what I get at the store.
I have begun to realize that what we are getting may be produce that usually goes to restaurants.
Zucchini is twice the normal size, the same with cucumbers. Potatoes, yams, both huge enough that one will feed two adults.
Onions holy moly... gigantic.
Strawberries each is bigger around than silver dollars. And perfect.
4 avocados firm so good till next week.
Radishes normal...lol
3 large grapefruit. 1 for the next 3 weeks.
Tomatoes not Romas I will fix as sandwiches.
Farm fresh eggs that I crack in a separate bowl incase there is one a bit furthur along.
Blue berries they are practically giving away.
Carrots huge thick long spears. One is enough for a soup.
The celery was the only limp veg.
I must have forgotten something. My fridge is full.
Tomorrow I will dice and freeze the onions.
Same with celery, half the carrots, the two bell peppers.
Blueberries go in freezer also.
The only thing they didn't have was lettuce. I have some romaine... my neighbor may buy some lettuce tomorrow, if she remembers. I loaded her 10$ for tacos. Will see.
But I am do happy. I get weirded out without fresh stuff.
Now for the best part. I asked if I could call in an order over the phone and have it picked up by a neighbor.
Yes!!! I can. Oh this is the biggest problem I was facing besides water. And Boy is buying more 5 gal bottles without screw tops.
Plum make sure you buy bottles that match your pumps top. There is an adapter but it doesn't work with all the bottles.
Well I am a happy camper and will be making some potato onion soup. Lol I have powdered milk so no problem there.
Maybe some pea & carrot soup.
This was an exceptionally good day!!! 8-)
