When Dh was growing up, he had filet mignon when they had steak. They were just a regular family with 6 children, but their dad knew a butcher who sold him large boxes of filet mignon at a reasonable price back then. So, he really loves it, too.
Generally, when I can get it, I cook it with lots of attention, but I've never brined them, or any steak, before! I'm really interested to know how yours come out!
