(This is the weekly post where you share your week of food. Did you have anything that really made your week, such as your favorite soup, a lunch out, or maybe you had something new? Find a new food product? A new appliance? Please do share!)
I got a small windfall this week. With it, I paid off a couple of things, and bought some extra food!
There were mega-sales at Safeway, to boot!
My black olives (when there's nothing to take my pills with, I eat some to buffer my stomach, as the Prednisone is really harsh.) were $1.50 *off* per can!
My water, with the store sale, and a cell phone deal, was almost 1/2 off!
Dh's extra calorie items, such as corn chips, were all the same as my olives...$1.50 off of a bag!
So, I took the opportunity of the windfall to spend in order to save over the next few weeks.
I also made a stir fry with vegetables that I got, got myself a grapefruit and some blueberries (also on sale at a reasonable price, but then buy one, get one free!), and got Dh 2 oranges...they are as large as a small grapefruit!...and a couple of unusual apples.
The last thing that I can buy, and then I'm back to my previous balance, (aka nothing extra.) is a piece of meat. I sure hope that they have one in again!
When Ds came over to pick Dh up yesterday for his bloodwork, he tasted the stir fry in the ice box, and said that food tastes better when someone else cooks it. I'll take that as a compliment.
Actually, I think that the truth with stir fry, is more that ddil doesn't eat certain things, so he can't add them to his dishes. For example, no ginger, no greens, and almost no onions. Those things make a difference, I'm sure.
Oh, and I got a couple of lemons, and really enjoyed lemonade and lemon water with my meals. I used to drink it every day.
How was your food week?
