Salad:
Avocadoes, 3, cut into bite-sized squares. Put some of the dressing on them and gently toss, so that they don't turn brown.
Baby tomatoes, red & yellow, if possible, halved or quartered.
Fresh Basil, parsely, & chives, chopped up. Dill if you like it.
Dressing:
Shallot, minced
Juice of 1/2 a lemon
Juice of 1/2 a lime
Salt & pepper
Olive oil, little less than the amount of citrus juices you have, shake well.
Personally, I might add a little lemon or lime zest, a bit of onion powder, and maybe a little garlic powder. If the eater likes spice, a match head's worth of cayenne, or a couple of drops of hot sauce. If the meal is Mexican, a teaspoon or 2 of jarred salsa might go.
