Yep, it's extreme sticker shock! Been there! You need a small pillow on your desk. ;-)
Good produce shopping! I am spending the last of that money on similar...onions, carrots, a celery, etc. It's worth it, because I can create many stretched out meals with them, and enjoyable ones. From soups to a stir fry. Yep, garlic and I already have a small head of cabbage.
Do they say what kind of white grape it is? That's interesting. The first white grape that I ever ate was on a neighborhood walk with my grandmother. They were hanging over a fence to the sidewalk, and I realize now that she knew the owner. They were sun kissed, and a delicious taste treat. :-) Enjoy yours!
How interesting about the paste. Please let us know how it is. I always loved paste for many things.
We love beets, too. Fresh or canned, pickled, or just roasted/heated.
The Dr. who my aunt worked for, for many, many years, still exercises, gets out and does many things, and is very sharp, mentally. He suggests eating 4 slices of pickled beets a day...I assume the fermented way? He's 102 now.
Have you made Harvard beets with the canned? Let me post the recipe again, after this, under Weekly Recipes. It's super easy/fast, and leftovers are kept in the 'fridge for quick reheating.
Is southwestern corn similar to Mexi-corn with peppers in it?
That's why we get so much, because water isn't just for us to drink, but the critters, and also for cooking. Cooking uses quite a bit, as you know.
Do you prefer dry white wines? My mom was definitely not a drinker, but once in a while, when they were out to dinner, before my dad stopped driving, she would have white wine with dinner.
I am so glad that you mentioned sausage!! I've been making my menu for the month, and I want to squeeze out a little of this meat, if I can, for a sausage based meal. But, I'd forgotten about it. I hope there will be enough left for one meal of it. It will be a pasta dish.
It sounds like you got some basics with the baking soda, vinegar, dressing, mayo, etc. What type of mayo are you using these days?
Good freezer foods, especially the Klondike Bars! :-)
You had a successful day at the bakery section! All important to meals, as you listed.
It does sound like you got quite a few household items, plus food at Walmart. I've never had the Velveeta mac 'n cheese, but if you think that it needs extending with other pasta, due to the cheese, I'll take your word for it.
It's time to get olive oil here, too. I don't like it to get too low, but it's not something that I forgot, I just am trying to wait until next month for it. We'll see how that goes with all of the cooking I'm doing.
Excellent items. Do you remember the Nutter Butter commercial song? :-) *singing* Have aaaaa (uhhhhh) nother Nutter Butter peanut butter sandwich coooookiiiie, by Nabisco!
Yep, cold here this morning, too. Brrr.
I love rainbows on the walls like that!
You too, have a great day!
