In a similar question to the one that I posted on PP, I was wondering if there's anything that you've been thinking of changing in your diet this coming year?
I want to cut back my sugar. My problem has been that I'm supposed to eat a certain amount of cocoa a day, along with my mag soaks, to keep my magnesium up, BUT one does not eat plain cocoa. Well, I don't, anyway. So sugar is an element in what I have with cocoa, like it or not. And, I do like it, but have to dial back the sugar part, I think.
Also, I want to add collagen to our diet regularly. I can't take the supplements, and until I move, I really can't make bone broth and store it. There's an organic gelatin powder that's beef based, at our local market, that I'm thinking of trying.
Remember when everyone would put Knox's gelatin powder in their tea, broth, etc. for healthy nails and hair? I'm thinking that it will be something like that.
I could definitely use more vegetation, but can't really change that right now. I'm hoping to plant some seeds up the hill in that little area of dirt that's there until the house is finished. That would help.
In a related note, I plan to redouble my efforts to find the supplements that I need, such as D3. As a matter of fact...
I may have found the D3, but am not sure yet. Ds has been using a brand for months that seems like it would work for me...which is to say, without allergens in it. So, I called the company initially, with a question about one thing in it, and what it's sourced from. It's the only thing standing between me, and using the product.
Without going into aggravating details, they were not helpful, at all.
Yesterday, the company - which I love, except for customer service - had an end of the year overstock sale. It was 1/3 off of supplements, no tax or shipping AND Bogo! So, I ordered 2 bottles (each is a 3 month supply.) and got 2 free, for Ds and ddil. If I can it, I would split it with them.
Out of desperation, I took a capsule from the last bottle of Ds's here, poked a hole in the end, and put a drop on my hand...which is the start of how I test for allergens. There was no reddening or breaking out of any kind, though I felt tight in the chest. So, I will do it again tomorrow, when my breathing is fine. If I get tight in the chest, or wheeze, then I can't use it.
If nothing happens, I'm calling the company back and maybe I'll get farther than last time.
One supplement in my sights...4 more to go, lol!
How about you?
