When I've tried to give things completely up, sometimes it works...I just give them up cold turkey, and that's that. Other times, it's not so easy, and I have found it easier to do what I know that we've both done...eat one square.
For me, the trick of anyone giving up sweets, or cutting way back, is to start with the plainest type first.
So, instead of ice cream with brownies or cherries in it, I suggested that Dh just get vanilla or strawberry. It seems like you eat more when there's 'stuff' in it. He tried it, a while back, and was soon able to eat a lot less, then he bought it less.
The other is candy. I get a plain 55% chocolate bar, and can eat one square when I want it. Whereas, in the old days, when I could eat more foods, I'd get a super creamy chocolate, or chocolate with nuts, caramel, or cherries in it, and it was hard to eat one piece.
So now, if Dh wants an ice cream fix, he just does it for ice cream's sake, not the addictive additions, and likewise my chocolate.
I applaud your decision to cut it out!
How nice that you are having a card night! I'd go just for the chips and dip, lol! And, I enjoy cards. Have fun! :-)
Your omelet sounds great! Good uses for your sausage. Believe it, or not, I used an entire container of mustard recently. It was a smaller one, because of the size of the 'fridge, but still...!
I'm so glad that the lavender is working!
We are doing the same with Nefertiti. We put her down the hall on a regular basis. She's not done anything wrong, but now that she's moved into this part of the house, I'm afraid that she will change her litter habits.
Yesterday, I heard her go down the hall on her own 3 or 4 times. So, it's working. All the best with Mussy, too.
I am sorry for your stress. :-( Hopefully, solutions will come to you. I wish that you could watch DVD's to relax.
Can you believe how soon the new year will be here? The year just flew by.
Enjoy your week, Ohmmmmmmm!
