We put a lot of emphasis on Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners. But, do you have any traditions for Christmas Eve, New Year's Eve, or New Years Day?
I try to make something easy on Christmas Eve, but something that we really like, even if that's just spaghetti. Originally, that was because I was putting my effort into Christmas dinner.
Usually, I like to have a lot of snacks for New Year's Eve, so we can play games. Anything from flavored popcorn, to cheese and salami or dip. Sometimes it's substantial enough to be dinner, other times it's later on.
This year, without Ds here, we probably won't do very much in the way of games, snacks, or even staying up, but we'll see.
New Year's Day dinner is usually the same for a few years, then, due to food allergies and such, I will change it.
For example, we used to have black eyed peas. Then, when I had to cut legumes out, we changed to homemade pizzas, which were good. More recently, we have burritos, going all out on the extras that you can have on or with them. And, we usually have Christmas cake for dessert. :-)
How about you?
