for the players don't think the court distracts.
It's just not a good visual for the fans and especially the officiating crew.
Really wonder who provides input in to the design of this stuff. WOuld think the head coach would review plans. Maybe I'm off base on the officiating aspect, but I do not think I am. played enough tennis and cannot imagine what it would be like to have all that garbage adjacent and blending in to the lines, it's hard enough to make close calls as it is.
all they had to do was put like a one foot solid color around the playing boundaries to avoid making everything look like a total blur
, good for them I guess, I'm sure their team will be more acclimated to it than opponents.
looks more like something Oregon would do, lol

I also do not like that the unbalance of the waves/kelp, who knows, from both side lines. Just looks weird to have a lot of graphics on one side and a lot less on the other.
LBSU's teraflex looks great and I am glad they did not go the gimmicky route like UCSD.

it looks like a very good design if you are a Shark lol, can attack without being seen!
or a 49er for that matter.

I hope they picked up that teraflex for free because that is so ugly.

this weekend will be UCSD's first home matches.
Beach will be the 2nd on Saturday, and sure they'll market to bring out the students, especially for Saturday and Long Beach
they have a new teraflex floor, which the perimeter I really do not like. Do not think it's helpful as well for the line calls.
somebody thought it was a good idea, maybe they think it will confuse opponents lol

btw UCLA finally bought a Teraflex as well, starting for their B1G but they didn't want to unveil it for the Long Beach match lol, surprised it took them this long.
