Long Beach State Athletics!: Big match vs LMU today

LMU is a more offensive oriented team vs. Beach's defense oriented team, They looked formidable vs Brown yesterday

hitting 0.24 on offense, 0.20 on defense

while Beach is hitting 0.21 vs. 0.18 on defense

LMU will compete for the WCC title with San Diego and Pepperdine. They haven't had quite as high a SOS as Long Beach

it was nice to see Beach use a wrinkle with Hamaker hitting some attacks right from the middle position

LMU also has a tall setter, from Argentina, who will dump the ball as well.

Reagan panicked twice yesterday in the rotation with Hamaker in the back, bringing in Madi C in a double switch to get out of that when we missed a couple BICs.

I don't remember LMU hitting much of any of a BIC, will be interesting to see how the teams go to a BIC today.

would be good to wrap up home non-conference with a key win. UCSB had looked like a conference favorite but ended going 0-3 vs. 3 top 100 mid-majors in Wyoming & Colorado.

3rd set was an adventure, not a fun one

was thinking the serving had got pedestrian with SHSU getting in to a rhythm

And then first Hamaker in the 4th set with back to back aces and then Izzy with hard pinpoint floats getting their #3 all discombulated on a huge run and that was essentially the match

Hope got pulled late 2nd set so hopefully that was just some pitch count type of precaution and she can go again tomm cause LMU will be tough and that will be a battle, they are good and will compete for the WCC title

Please Natalie do not waste a challenge as a pseudo timeout when up 2-0 and behind, trust to see if they can come back. leaving yourself just one challenge when you ll need them at a crucial time and you may not end up with one.

Johnson I think is a real key, just a few more smarter plays and get her receiving back after not so good vs Brown and shanks ti start that first set. She makes some really nice kills just more consustency
