did not get why we went to more 6-2 and put Annabel in in the 3rd set, when the team was playing the way they did. I do think the one thing that did do was get Mad Max some rhythm as a hitter which turned out to help in that 5th set
and then wow Utah on a roll goes to a 5-1 to start the 5th set? lol, seemed like overcoaching
the upside was Pola came off the bench and had some nice moments, so the depth at MB is really good even though Hope is a really top level talent.
that 5th set grind was very good, we had a botched slide to create margin, a trap set by Jelinik to Hamaker up 12-10 that kept Utah in it. in spite of those the plays Mad Max made in the clutch were so good, that 14-13 Utah point we had no business winning, their hitter went for a home run and got stuffed, that was the point of the season so far to find a way to wn that point.
and the best part was the left sides were getting lots of solid swings on quick sets, and takng swings versus tipping the ball over constantly, seems whatever training we had worked well this week. as you said this team looks like national level team with their height and they have some quickness as well. Natalie has to get some credit for the type of block we are putting up and the staff with how solid this backrow is, Izzy and Lauren have not been aced all season and both come in and make pinpoint serves off the bench.
gonna be tough today, may not go easy after a 3 hour late match, against a decent team used to the altitude in Wyoming.

Very nice win on the road against a good team with size and athletic ability. The flow of the match was going Utah's way but the ladies fought hard and showed some metal in the big win.
It has been some time since LBSU was as tall and physical as this year's team. The ladies play big time volleyball at the net and have the back row defense to cover balls and keep balls alive. Really impressed with last nights play.
Hope went down at a bad time, if there is ever a good time, with a sprained ankle and I thought this was it. The coaches and players regrouped and pulled it out.
Coach was really trying things and at one point I thought she was doing too much but it all worked out in the end. I think the coach has to go with the ups and downs of Johnson while she gains experience and becomes more consistent. At this time there really isn't a player ready to replace her in big moments. Chloe can put the ball down and as a freshman needs time.
Again, a big win for the team and really excited to see their continued growth and development throughout the year. This team can win the conference it they can stay healthy.

survived a match point,
a crazy pick up by Mad Max on a tapeworm serve just leading to get the ball over, and a thunderous block to save match point.
some nice swings by Johnson & Murphy
really clutch plays in that 5th set after blowing a 7-3 seed.
no rest, will have a tough turnaround to play early vs. Wyoming tommorrow who is no pushover. just hope Hope's ankle was minor.
great win for this crew on the road.

our serve is not fooling UTah as much and they are getting better attempts. Hope yikes went down awkward on her foot and is out, gonna be tough without her in this match.

Hamaker & Hope really look big time
I did not expect Hamaker would be this good.
the serve is keeping Utah off balance.

Jelinik with some amazing saves to get a run going, the serving is solid placement. and they look good
I'm sure Utah will pick it up, but good to see this team applying a lot of stress. Heck, it seems like 1999 watching this. they have height and they serve hard, and that backcourt.
