apparently the Pac-12 has only 3 teams, so now men's soccer, and the Big West has an abundance of teams, although Davis left this year

so some Big West teams have been moved over to the Pac-12 for soccer, and affiliate members.

the reason?


suspect by doing so it preserves the Pac-12 auto-bid. the Big West teams basically gets a shot at two auto bids with the 11 Big West teams, guaranteed one bid in the all Big West lead, and two bids spread out over two conferences of 7 teams.

assume with UCSD & UCSB leaving next year this will be revisited, or the alignment goes to 6 and 6 to preserve auto-bids,
