King leaving has been tough to take. Sykes for MBB leaving just hammered in the new reality that makes it hard to generate enthusiasm.
King was different, being a huge VB fan, she was going to be a big difference, with her OOS abilities and BWPOY candidate and I think front-runner. Just hard to see how any team now can get close to Poly, but hopefully.
Reagan to her credit has generated or at least kept enthusiasm. After Tyler, she has managed to keep attendance up at a high number around 1500 average.
I just do not see yet who can be the elite differentiator. I am thinking Murphy will be that athlete and hope to hope she is healthy.
The middle development last year was good, the Libero/Diff specialist and setting SHOULD be better which was already at a solid Big West upper level.
Finishing top 2 would be a huge achievement, just the program could really use a breakthru on the 12 year drought to the NCAAs.
btw, was not there an exhibition going to occur. hope so, starting with UCLA, that could be a really tough weekend, unless the passing/setting starts off well.
Ammaker has to make a jump mentally and consistency as well, so hopefully that occurs.

I'm cautiously optimistic.
Back row defense and serve receipt should be outstanding. Madi brings a lot to the setter position....set, block, attack and serve. From posts on this board last Spring, Kinga the transfer setter appears pretty capable.
Agi and King are definitely voids. If Kendall Murphy is healthy, she should capably fill one of the pins. If Sidney continues to grow her game and either the Dani Thomas-Nathan (SC transfer) or Mia Halsey step up, the pins should be good.
Middles: last season, this was an unknown coming in. Sheffie previously had limited playing time and Thomas was a transfer without a lot of pedigree. They both contributed beyond expectations. I see this year in a similar vein. Reagan Hope was highly touted out of high school, injured and concentrated on the beach. I saw her play as the 2 flight against LB last year, She has an all-around game. Can see Pola and Presley stepping up this year. Presley seems to have a live arm. Hadn't seen enough of her relative to putting up a block. Freshman Kyler Birkelbach?
Service pressure? Not sure....from last year Sidney and Madi showed some ability

With the women's volleyball practices starting in short order how do you think the team will do this year? Program lost some very key players in Agi and King and also lost some steady players in the middle. Will the new transfers just fill those roles or will they elevate the program? Have the coaches done enough in the off season to compete for a conference championship or will this just be Poly's year to win both the regular and conference championships? We have a few WVB nerds on this board so what are you envisioning for this season?
