For those who think a P4 assistant can succeed in today's CBB environment better than a D2 or JUCO coach, we'll have the best comparison locally. Fullerton also just hired their women's basketball coach, a 7 year veteran head coach of Orange Coast College, a JUCO powerhouse. Hired maybe a few weeks before Minyon, but essentially the same time, both schools have very little returning and a new coach bringing in new assistants. By the end of the year, let's see how this plays out...

I don't know much about her other than what's in her bio but it most likely won't work out. I'll keep an open mind, but hiring a P4 assistant (like Amy) just isn't the right fit these days for a low-major like us. This is like when we hired Wayne Morgan who was an assistant at Syracuse. Coaching at TCU or Syracuse and at the Niners is like night and day. I don't think these P4 assistants know what's going to hit them...I know they just want their first crack at head coaching. Hiring a local successful D2 head coach, like Cal Poly Pomona's Danelle Bishop would have been my choice. They know how a build a team annually with many new players. Good luck to Minyon but I don't think this will pan out, like most of Slytherin's hires.
