I'll enjoy MBB but only for what it is worth, but not going to give a dime anymore with the current AD, unless he comes out and say We are a VB school and so we will maintain that, but he will not. He'll go down with the ship or his last 3 years of a contract and then he'll be gone.

I've stated my solution. Just have walk ons for Men's & Women's basketball, hire some caretaker coach, with interns as all the assistants and save $1 mil a year in MBB salaries that don't bring in revenue anyway
be a national 'leader' in saying F U to the system for MBB, while putting resources in the main sport that has been able to excel and entering a mode of just hanging in there until Smitheran drives it in to teh ground while he throws all resources at trying to puff up a sport (MBB) that cannot be puffed up anymore.
we might lose our next 100 basketball games, but that's not really any worse than what we have now.
He's a prisoner of a system he has no idea how to deal with, other than dismiss anything not MBB.
unless the new President is so engaging, energetic, visionary a leader that he could shortly do wonders by A) getting rid of the middleman Apel or whatever name the VP is, B) direct SMitheran with a vision for excellence on target sports (MVB, WVB being the top two for reasons of legacy, competitiveness (before they are nto competitive).

I like the idea of going 0-29 or 1-28 or like that and being proud of being totally amateur to the nth degree in MBB and WBB at this point. Should there be structural change, then yeah, can re-examine.

98% of NIL is going to Football or MBB. In mid-majors like LBSU which do not have Football--there are about 100 D1 institutions like that--there is the possibility of sports like volleyball actually having the possibility of having NIL available because they are not competing with Football. But WVB is not going to have that because there isn't much NIL available at all, and any NIL that there is is going to be going to MBB. And that is exactly what is happening right now.
So again, what can Natalie do to make a player like Logan stay? If it's not money it has to be something else tangible, like excellent training and development, on court success, an amazing campus and social environment and other accessible resources. She offers none of that. Previous Message
