they would probably worst case situation try to bail for the Big Sky
The WCC is not going to want everybody. maybe they do not even want UCI (it's not just one sport after all).
the WCC has definitely won a west coast tug of war.
also, the Pac-12 is not settled by any means.
of course waiting this sh&t out isn't working out well either, lol
St Mary's wants to leave the WCC.
just sucks that the Big West is getting sucked dry by the WCC when the WCC really isn't al that great, even in basketball (st. Mary's is it), isn't that great in WVB or most anything - overall wise, the WCC is nothing special which makes this even worse
oh well.
bad press though propagates more bad press. it's a vicious circle.
I would not be surprised to see Cal Poly try to go the the Big Sky, cause I do not think the WCC or MOuntain West will necessarily be that reception
but can bet with this, UCI & Cal Poly are burning the phones lines
meanwhile Long Beach has had a void of leaderhip going on 10 years with the last 3 being horrendous
f'cking Jane really did a number on this University brand wise acadeic wise and athletics wise, her last parting shot was shooting down the idea that Knipe could be AD with her typical mindless thought process. It's like her goal was to turn Long Beach in to Cal State LA and looking like she'll have succeeeded

That makes 7 if Cal Poly sticks around. They can't be happy about the UCSB move, so let's call it 50/50 that they stick around the Big West till 2031.

Here are the current members, not counting those announced to leave:
Bakersfield
Sacramento (Possibly gone by 2032, joining the MWC in all sports)
Northridge
Long Beach
Fullerton
Riverside
Irvine (Most likely, next addition to the WCC)
Cal Baptist (Desires to get into the WCC)
Utah Valley (Move to the Summit league)
With projected moves because of the next round of media rights deals in 2031, the BWC may only have 6 members (LB, Northridge, Fullerton, Bakersfield, Riverside, and maybe Cal Baptist). You need 8 or 9 teams for a basketball conference. I would be surprised if there were any California based D2 schools who would move up by then. We may have to take Southern Utah and Utah Tech from the WAC just to stay alive, which assumes they would want to move.
