frankly, at this point in history,
I'm fine if Long Beach just goes to the CCAA lol,
for everything but MVB, and then just pour every single discretionary resource into MVB and at least stay a MVB power
I mean seriously NCAA sports suck, it's professional sports I do not watch much of anything football or basketball (there are real professional sports available, called the NBA or NFL, if I wanted that, I'll watch some of NBA, I've come to despise football in total anyway so don't really care about what happens anymore in football, it became glorified flag football passing game with 350 lb behemoths lol.
oh well
glad this part of the world is passing me buy, I'd be ok to go watch some CCA basketball. and hope Long Beach MVB can hang around for another 5 or 6 years and maybe another title. beyond that, this generation of 'student' atheltes do not deserve any of my donation or ticket money anyway and I do not see journey student athletes as really contributing much towards the greater good for society anymore, they've sold out themselves (not by design) to a broken system and totally their choice and choice is great
but no loyalty, not that they do not appreciate supporters, but if they are on a 4 year journey to get money vs a shared experience in a University, well screw them lol, good luck with that life choice! to those that are staying, thank you in spades, greatest of respect and pride, and well good luck.!

At that point, CSUN and LBSU should just join the "new" WCC mens volleyball conference.

regardless,
these moves become a self fulfilling prophecy
UCSB has zero media pull, I guess maybe WCC sees them as 'higher' type
this is also hitting the Big West as a Volleyball conference. if they go, only 3 of 6 Big West MVB members would be full time Big West members. The WCC would have 4 MVB members if UCSB goes, and if Irvine goes WCC would make it 5 (versus just us & NOrthidge left) so WCC would probably become a MVB conference
yuk

another domino falling
UCSD is one thing, UCSB is a long time rival and long term conference mate
would make the Big West a shell. also, losing all the high ranking research insitutions (UCSD, Davis, SB) stings
what is left?
Still do not get that the WCC is some high profile conference. Pepp & LMU really have not stood out in recent years.
getting left in the dust, I think circa 2012 LOng Beach State would have been the top 1 or 2 for the WCC to pursue. not now
just depressing news upon depressing news
