serving pressure is it's strength, up and down the line-up there is a ton of pressure, especially with Marguardt's jump serve. although Braun has done pretty well with this float, it changes the pace.
on the other hand the SEs are just massive, like walking a tight-rope is what this team is doing this year
the issues.
Kandev has struggled a bit more receiving than last year
lately, Varga is struggling to serve as effective as earlier in the year when it was unbelievable, and probably unsustainable. hopefully gets some of that rhythm back. on the other hand Kandeve right now is the best server in the nation the last few weeks. & Cryst now has a bit better command. this team is like a baseball line-up of home run hitters, that strike out accordingly lol
& then Pazanti just having trouble with rhythm a lot, he did seem to connect with Marquardt immediately
would think Doty gets a few more reps this weekend
the questions going forward
Pazanti #1. a win is a win. but should NOT be hitting 0.250 vs. that PSU team
MB. we haven't even seen Pruitt and know he can jump out of the gym as well. hopefully they all keep contributing
Kandev. he was pulled last game and sure hope he s 100%. he had some injuries last year, and he's a huge key. not the same depth as last year
Gajek. still don't know that upper level, and Herschy avail helps. hopefully both in a positive way
SEs just not sure what to say. 25-30 SEs in the NCAAs could be problematic.
it's just a nagging feeling watching this team like just off on a number of small attention to details too much.
we have the players to apply the glue in Varga, Larson, and now Kandev IMO
Varga was a source of calm amid the Moni mania. this year he's great still. just need a bit more controlled mania.
last year was basically a next man up out of a necessity and they flourished. this year more of a which man up uncertainty lol
stll looking for some more quick middle sets, but I guess they have to perfect a lot of basic sets first still, those BICs were frustrating those should have blown out those last 2 sets.
our OOS % is tougher it seems without Moni
Hawaii will be interesting.

Yes, the back row attack errors were disturbing. It may be more the fault of the setting location, but I'm not sure how well the hitter should be able to adjust.
I enjoyed the tributes to Lotman and the Penn State coach. The latter was especially classy. Our former coach, Ray Ratelle was in attendance for that, as well. Nice to see him again.
The LSU Beach team was in town to play at USC. Zayna Meyer is on that team. They were clearly there, sitting with our Beach team, to support Zayna's boyfriend, Skylar Varga.
Like you, I'm becoming concerned with Pazanti's setting. It's gotten much spottier since earlier in the season. I hope he can get that straightened out.

Team was kind of sloppy, lots of errors, basically aced their way to a win
Like 4 back row foot over the line
Lotman got his banner to add, maybe Crabb next
Real class tribute for Pav of Penn State,
And nice tribute by the LSU Beach VB team for Varga lol!
Plus a nice bump set off a Cryst serve
hope Kandev is ok, and that was a precaution, didn't play last week
Pazanti seems to have regressed a bit except from the ending
Brandon!! wow to the rescue. Kid can elevate

Men's Volleyball sweeps Penn State, 26-24, 25-18, 25-19. Marquardt comes off the bench at middle, and has an excellent match. 2,855 in attendance. See what happens when you win?
