The only experience the other man had was (head) coaching 2 seasons at a JUCO but ZERO games above that level.
One coach won big in his last 14 seasons as head coach (257-139) prior to joining his Big West school.
The other coach went 25-28 in his 2 years as head coach at a JUCO.
Head coaching experience counts and winning big at lower levels counts, too.

the other team was next to last, and stuck in the mud with a systems seemingly a gimmick with no inside game
one team could not adjust, continually got behind, and never developed to pull away or cement games
the other team adjusted, started to dominate teams, and keeps climbing over other teams up in the stands
one team has a game left to not be in last place
