Sure coaching between the lines is still the same, but EVERYTHING else you knew has changed. Recruiting? no one ever told you that kids today in HS have agents (you used to talk to parents) and want to know how you're going to build their brand. A kid has a breakout year and you're thinking that you have a roster piece to build around? ummm, where did he go? yup, gone. Take a flyer on a project? sure until he has a single good game and then his agent is flooded with offers to leave. And leave they do! how does it feel to have to recruit 80% new players every year? "Adapt or die" is a mantra for sure, but holy jesus, how do you expect a Chris Acker to compete against the big boys with no money to offer. I know you're going to point to other BW programs and say that they do it. And yes, THEY do. LB can't or won't follow this pattern for some reason. It's sad, but this is why LB should drop down to D2 status for Mbb to give them a chance for success. Unless of course, there is some Texas Tech wealthy LB alum that wants to donate $5-10mm per year to fund NIL..
