story was Braun and Kandev. both unstoppable and great to see Braun the former Ohio State player being dominant attacking, blocking and the one guy who got it in consistently with his float and actually was scoring points with that float
Kandev also unstoppable, and also passing nail
was interesting is Ohio State ws targetting Varga all the time today, first time this year teams went after him on serve.
Varga started slow and his attack came on later in match
have to say MacRae made great choices on challenges in that 4th set. a few points before match point he chose not to challenge a close call not likely to be overturned with his last challenge, and then on match point Kandev ripped an obvious ace that skipped in front of the receiver who passed it anyway. but the refs bone head missed. Saving that last challenge was huge as it quickly overturned it, have no idea how the refs missed, Long Beach players all stopped playing and Ohio State pounded for a missed call kill that would have keep Ohio State in it. lesson learn on challenge usage, Knipe used a lot of challenges for TOs that always bugged me but he's forgotten more VB that I'll ever know lol.
