Succession is always a tricky thing. There's no way to predict the reaction(s) with certainty. Nick will have to adjust to being in charge of the whole program, and the players will have to adjust to Nick as the leader and not just the enforcer. I think Nick is capable of doing what needs to be done.

I hope you mean we have a new assistant coach taking MacRae's spot. I know you can't disclose who but do you feel great about it?

The position has already been filled.

Agree to be open to non LB connections. It's great the LB culture Knipe has, and also good to an outside view. not really sure they can replace Knipe's international connections but also suspect Knipe will contribute in some ways of salesmanship.
the team has developed a history of playing with Canadian teams that I would expect to continue as well.
just gonna have to see, McRae will have to make his own mark. It took Knipe a lot of years to win that NC after a lot of heartbreak losses on his resume along the way. 2018 NC was practically one point away from another heartbreak year.

I hope they don't limit the search to LBSU alumni because they need someone with the international connections that Knipe had. We're not going to be able to keep an elite program without international players. Every program is starting to do that. Even UCLA who didn't recruit many foreign players previously has hired an assistant coach with outstanding international connections
