Santa Barbara is really good. They have Travis fully healthy now.
& do not need to have Davis representing the Big West, that would be a big blow to the conference. a lot of things worked in their favor, regardless Davis is a solid team and can be disrupted.
Beach is like the wild card of the four teams. Cal Poly I think would have won the BWCT last year if they were healthy and not lost their two best players.
I really like our frosh back-court players and the Beach middle blockers are grinders getting their chance this year who have eked out about everything they could of their talent. See if they can eke out just a little more today. Poly can be disrupted, Breshear (sic) is the big addition, Stockham was really physical but she could also shank a ton of balls receiving. Both teams get to practice against their lefty opp, so both used to that.

Of all the teams left IMO Poly is LBSU's most difficult matchup. They are the biggest and more physical team of the bunch and if they can pass well will be very hard to beat. I expect UCSB and my homer pick of LBSU to advance. I dream that this year LBSU will finally get over the hump and get back into the NCAA tourney. We will find out very soon.

UCSB is the favorite in my mind. they lost 3-2 to Davis in Davis, blowing 4 match points, while playing without Eva Travis. Both with quality middles and pins, UCSB plays that 6-2. Davis is the better serving team. has to go 4 or 5 sets
Beach - Poly difficult to determine. Beach got waxed badly up in Poly, receiving was poor, the infamous delay of returning from the locker room penalty, flailing substitutions. Beach swept Poly a long time ago. Poly played poorly to get swept by Irvine no less last week. Likely to also go 4 or 5 sets, IMO more of an even match up. Poly's experienced setter Bullis actually did not play due to injury n last years BWCT semi win over Beach nor the final vs. Hawai.
