Some of the coaches wanted to have more out of conference games to help with RPI. the current schedule allows them to do that but some years you do not play the better conference teams that can help with RPI.

This year Davis will more than likely win the regular season but they only played UCSB and Poly once. I would expect their conference leading record might be a little different if they did.
