I think Acker was Smitheran's guy right from the get go after CDM was let go. He didn't really consider any of the other candidates who applied, which included Downer.

but yeah, I'm not sold, and have zero clue about this roster. in this NIL era how can one assess.

I just think Askew kept us in so many games last year, and without any sort of impact player, we could be in for a brutal year. the schedule is about as easy a schedule as one could imagine

our style last year was really disjointed, not seemless passing, and what has Acker learned? not sure he knows or will learn how to teach spacing - it's a really hard thing to do. wish this staff well, nowhere to go but up!

They just lost a scrimage 79-74 to D2, Point Loma, yesterday at the Pyramid (according to X reports). Wonder how many points and rebounds Andrew Nagy tallied for PLU?

BTW, if Acker is on a short leash, the Niners absolutely need to keep Justin Downer, PLU head coach, on their short list of replacements. Perfect guy. Fits new players into his system every year and still wins BIG at the D2 level. Surprised he didn't go to a lower level D1 this past off season...
