I know the lady Niners lost a good core group of players (Tucker, Crawshaw, and Chung), but I'm optimistic that they will be better this season. If one or more freshman break out (Akot, Samuel, Mack, or Pukis), they could be deeper than last years team. They still don't have a true post player unless Wright has improved significantly from her freshman season which she seemed out of shape. If Akot is as good as advertised, they have 3 players (Richards, Fernandez and Akot) who will contribute in the frontcourt. At guard, Jones-Brown will be a key. She played pretty well as a freshman and appearing capable of developing further. She'll either be a scoring point guard or a wing on a 3 guard starting lineup. If all goes well, I'm hopeful for 5-7 finish in the Big West.
