They did much better in that fifth set to clinch the win. I didn’t see a single mistake from Kennedy, Spreen, Schwarzenbach, or Glenn. 🤣
(BTW, who are Spreen and Schwarzenbach?) 🤨

a win is a win
lot of work to do.
@ 7-3 Mad Max had a wide open court dump, she missed her left hand dump and she misses that a lot, it's a blind shot, just I don't think she has a good fell for it, it is short in the net way too often
good to get 3 wins in 3 days, good to not let shoddy play in 3rd and 4th affect them.
the level of VB won't cut it against Davis, Poly, or UCSB
on the other hand, would have taken 7-4 given all the changes coming in to this season, other than Portland State and Oregon and 5th set vs. UCLA - dissapointmnents - they showed a will to win and Agi makes plays n the clutch
looking at stats King hit 0.235 and that should ahve been 0.400 with all the open court and her having to make up stuff on a ton of those sets to her.
it's improvement though, they can contend in the Big West. but really need to up it to contend with what Poly showed vs. Utah. that has high level stuff

came back with some life down 22-17, with King coming back in for some kills
King missed a couple golden attempts though later, and they let it slip away. just errors Mad Max followed a great dump for match point with barely missing an ace, ugh

Beach looks weary, flailing, Reagan making subs in desperation.
really dissapointing ending, see if they can turn around a fifth set. but gassed
the horrific timing in the middles caught up today

picked up their play.
the middle setting/attack just not good timing, still dink city. slides work, way too many errors.
see how gassed they are now with the altitude

not the greatest VB. Mad Max (or Callie?) had a lot of trouble with timing to the middles and especially to Opp (King), I counted 4 attempts King was flailing at with her right hand, yikes!
got a bit better, especially going to the slide more with the middles worked. before it was dink city
Agi is clearly the dominant back row receiver - I like the end zone view can see which backrow player is 'cheating' to cover more. Beach almost going with Agi & Jelenik receiving with their spacing, albeit Jelenik (or Glenn lol?) got aced a couple times.

have seen some SID faux paux s over the years, this one is pretty funny and takes the cake. See which fact (pre-tournament ) is correct!!
my guess is the SID used AI, which shows what can happen with AI. there is no way a human with a brain and ounce of VB knowledge could have come up with this
"Long Beach State (4-4) – The Beach are an even .500 through their first eight matches. Katie Kennedy leads the way with 90 kills (3.00 per set) on .310 hitting, while Annie Spreen adds 86 kills. Setter Callie Schwarzenbach averages 9.41 assists per set, and libero Natalie Glenn leads the defense with 138 digs (4.60 per set)."
