that was a solid spanking, definitely a good confidence win for this group, and pretty much wire to wire at that, and 3rd set lost a big lead but never let OSU get ahead
1) trying to digest how good, or how bad, OSU is. seemed like a stodgy team, our fewer mistakes today had something to do with it though I think. they got really rattled after losing a challenge late 3rd set. OSU was picked 4th in the WCC just with all the player movement in NCAA now year to year, I think pre-season polls are more suspect than in the past
regardless, OSU had some solid hitters returning.
2) Mad Max. can't say enough, it's only two games, but she is just smoother than Zayna . the team is just less herky jerky.
3) interesting subbed Agi out on serves, and we by design I guess are not doing BICs lol, like crazy difference vs. the Tyler teams, maybe Reagan just trying to keep everything simple. Agi can pound the BIC
4) Agi & King. they are good, and showed it. can't say enough how Agi picked up where she left off and King is a player
5) did this with Agi still trying to figure out her serve
6) the middles got blocks, definitely did not get a lot of great middle hits, which I presume/hope will come. pretty clear their focus will be blocking, blocking, blocking and anything else to be gravy
7) backrow play, is it me or they just seem to be in so much better position to get digs vs. since De La Cruz left 3 years ago.
Jelenik and Mahaffey. again, only two games, but jeez what a difference, and in their serve as well they move location and keep it n
8) good to see the team cutting down on Service Errors.
now for UCLA, at least based on this sample size - this match-up got a whole lot more interesting, albeit UCLA has been able to scout these two matches and it's UCLA's first match.
