I believe that by conference time LBSU will have a pretty good starting lineup figures out and be very competitive in conference. IMO the middles are the weakest going into the season and hopefully these young ladies will rise to the occasion.
Right now the biggest battles are in the middle and figuring out who will be the L2. Agi, both setters, Logan and Mahaffey are pretty set going into the Stanford match. Previous Message
I have them picked 7th. A young and inexperienced back row that will have to adjust on the fly to the speed of the college game. A untested setter who's going to be totally reliant on good passing. Not concerned when Collins is setting she's good. Don't want to comment on the middles except to say don't expect much production. Opposing teams are just going to focus on shutting down Agi. Expecting huge roster turnover in the off season. Previous Message
We will be able to see the players in action at home Saturday in the annual black and gold match. This will be the last tune up before Stanford, UCLA and Oregon State come to Mid the following week. Previous Message
I"m sure our 5th place forecast is all about setting. I don't know why we didn't pursue or was unsuccessful in getting a transfer portal setter this past spring. Unless Maxwell insisted on moving to setter (for her future), this seems to have weakened our prospects this year. 5th looks about right...at least until proven wrong. Previous Message
probably sounds about right, still 'ouch'
Poly & Hawaii at the top, 2 and 1 separated by two votes, Poly and Hawaii lost 1st team pins though.
just have to see how well these coaches can develop players this year
