no kidding
the entire Calif leadership is in turbulance and the State can't simply transform their leadership
the mindset in Calif and the CSU is it's all become based on OPPOSING ideas, not DEVELOPING, that is unless developing includes a summary of things to oppose, lol
Jane's entire 10 years was based on lecturing and talking down to people
and now she gets to rake in more money doing squat

The President situation is equally a mess. Jane announced she was retiring at the end of June 2025. Then at the July 2025 Board of Trustees meeting, it was announced that the search would be extended and Jane would continue as president until the end of August. But in the mean time, there was an article stating that Jane had already moved to San Francisco and agreed to be a consultant for 6 months. So, does that mean she's running the school from her house in SF? Why didn't the school just name an interim starting July 1st? I'm sure the powers to be already knew that their top candidates backed out. I'm starting to suspect the CSU system is just as screwed up as the LBSU administration. The CSU system is now trying to CYA over the Sac State president, as past YT videos have surfaced where he's stating that colleges need to "eliminate whiteness". Good luck trying to cover that up... he's on the clock, yeah he's got a contract,
but the dude needs to come clean with the coaching support, the lack of leadership the hiring bias towards SDSU, .....on and on
he has zero confidence, would be good to be a fly on the wall in terms of if Apel is actually happy with the administration of sports, and he can't be so obtuse to not realize it? and not realize the reasons..
but like losing the Beach VB NCs, maybe his MO is to let things happen and hope his problems just go away
but they won't ......
jeez, this University is a mess, and the lack of communication and lack of vision is appalling Previous Message
Here was the first part of the press release last year about the Battle at the Beach MTE scheduled for 2025.
“The inaugural Battle At The Beach was announced today, a premier college basketball experience featuring a range of events for athletes and fans, all hosted in Long Beach, Calif. Staged on the serene campus of Long Beach State, the tournament will launch in November 2025 and feature a mix of Division-I teams from Power 5 conferences and mid-major schools, including Long Beach State's very own men's basketball team.”
Just released today. Battle of the Beach is scheduled for November 19-21. Participants include Montana State and Nobel University (non-D1). Does that sound like a mix of D1 teams from Power 5 conferences and mid-major schools?
