just I was appalled at teh amount of 'inbred' representation on that committee
sorry, but like two HR reps? lol
I get each college wants representation
to me where are the real Acaddemic , Arts, and Athletic champion for excellence that are independent voices? the committee shold have those 3 with NO EMPLOYTMENT TIES to CSU or Long Beach State itself that can really give an independent voice to this
you are correct, just what the Chancelor did appoiinting Jane was apalling, it was 'gift' to her for whatever loyalty to 'the system' and she absolutely created no vision or value for ANYTHING (Academics, Arts, Athletics) ZILCH. just mindless and mind-numbing lectures and platitudes
it does not exist.

Not one person on the committee represents the interests of athletics. Big donor X would have been nice...Alan Knipe would have been nice. I'm very pessimistic about this.
Putting blame on the "CSU system" would be misguided. Recent hires at SDSU, Suc State show that leaders with an understanding of the value of athletics (along with their academic credentials) can be found. Previous Message
really hard to know what to make up this.
one thing, not confident at all. This search committee is so full of the Cal State & LBSU reps, how can they really evaluate what is needed without their biases bred frmo their internal posittions
seems just another committee to 'cover the bases' lol
get some faculty from (an example) like members from Case Western, & George Washington, and Iowa State, i.e., open up to some actual non-California based thought and ability to challenge bias
maybe we'll get lucky, just man what flippin gripe session, which means likely to get someone skilled at appeasement vs. skilled at leading, unlike Mrs Doubtfire wo should have been retired 10 years ago instead of getting some 'plum' retirement gift package to bag and rag on Beach for 10 years.
