tough and entertaining match,
1) Hawaii was playing lights out, first two sets, handly serves mainly
2) Beach rateched up 3rd set servs big time with Kandev and then Moni's 4 ace 'heisman' moment run
3) We were handling serves ok, just Hawaii was handling everything
3) Dickinson recovered from a shaky semi, and was swinging hard
4) Have to give Hawaii's Sakamoto credit for turning around the match back to Hawaii in the 4th set, was serving lazers that 4th set. still the back row has to handle that type of serve in crunch time
5) couple of bad plays at bad times, notably one real Moni to McRaven that should have been a slam dunk, and whiffed.
5) some real concerns about the roster/players. No Danill again, what the heck is going on.
now Braun left the game, hopefully just get more quickness? but sure hope that wasn't an injury sub. Pruitt is a good player
team has shown great depth, but jeez, how much can even a great team absorb.? Siapnais, Bouchkov, now Danill, and then Braun subbed out.
good news is two weeks, bad news is probably be left whistling to find out until they take the court in Columbus
I think the seeding SHOULD be (operative word), but it's a committee
1) Beach
2) Hawaii (with their home cooking scheudle)
3) UCLA
4) Loyola
5) Pepperdine - who until we played Irvine was the toughest contest Beach faced all year. they are good, just they never hardly even left Malibu this year to play
