need an actual GM that can identify hidden talent, ala Billy Bean
having Steph is just trying to lure with prestige
where a real GM will work is at a place like NOrthwestern or Iowa State, that will have resources but not the major bucks
all Beach will be able to afford our interns, we need some crazy good statistics geeky intern who loves Beach, and can help the assistants guide to the right players to recruit, lol Previous Message
Most schools with money now have a general manager position to deal with stuff like that. Steph Curry just became Asst. GM at his almamater, Davidson. Just a thought, could we hire some of our illustious alums to do that for us too? Previous Message
lol,
at this point, just assume every player is in the transfer portal. it's almost not worth monintoring anymore
everybody is a pro/NFL team
it's like the AD needs a Billy Bean type or two now that scours DII, DII, Juco, and the reserves of D1 to re-assemble the best line-up each year that can be had for $2k per player
I mean, why not let players tranfer by December 20 and have a flipping 'trading' deadline, so long as their grades clear.
just not worth investing attachment to any players, they got what they wanted - total free agency, consequences to a quick fix of money in their accoutns from age 18-21, that they won't be able to even replicate after age 22 in their lives, they'll be so jaded and misinfornmed and unhirable due to thinking they can sell their services every year and getting away with it.
good luck players!!! wish you good health, but frankly who gives a crap if you really don't care about contiuity for a Long Beach degree. Previous Message
She would have been our best returning player, by far. Coach Amy will need to hit the transfer portal harder than she did last year. Some talent returning, but mostly inexperienced.
