Poly will be interesting next year when they lose those D2 guys, it wasn't so much starting from scratch with a new coach cause he had a couple returing players, plus had a core of those D2 players that knew his style. didn't really recruit much this year
have no idea what Acker's recruiting will be, might be a lot of recruiting again, tough if he can't offer a player more than $5k. i've heard some numbers from a source of some average Big West players gettig money, even Riverside, not sure if it's true, cause doesn't make sense. like lol where does all this money come from? like even bottom half schools have boosters willing to write $5k and $10k checks to players. must be a lot of rich people out there with money to burn

First off, I haven't given up on Acker but I would like to see him go after D2 or JUCO players.
Drake University (MVC), is 23-2 and STARTS 4 ex-D2 players. They have a decent chance of getting into the NCAA tournament even without winning their conference tournament. Cal Poly starts 3 ex-D2 players (followed their D2 coach to SLO); while not having a great record, it's better than the Niners with a bunch of "name" D1 transfers. With the NIL and transfer portal keeping D1 players in school longer, I think the level of play at D2 and JUCO must be better. Lets scout and target some of these guys instead of offering a scholly to a P1 transfer just because he was a 3/4 star recruit or just because his dad was a star at the LBSU. Get some players who can play, not just have athletic ability but real individual and team basketball skills.
